Mar 28th 2016 | Let's Get Cracken With Kracie and Ramen.🍬🍬

This month's shipment was a box containing two items. This shipment will likely arrive around the end of April. The contents featured were candy paste and ramen crisps.

Baby Star Jumbo Chicken Ramen

One of the drawbacks of living in Tokyo is how everyone just assumes you eat ramen every day. The worst part is that it's absolutely true. Even in snack form. Baby Star runs the monopoly on noodle snacks around here. As they should, because these are fantastic. The dried noodle crisps crunch with a lot of flavor. I almost want to boil them! Except seriously don't do that. Resist the urge to make the crispy chicken noodles soggy.

This candy is a good way to gross out your mom. The texture and consistency is a little runnie and slimey, but stretchy and fluffy too. Think pudding meets whip cream. The taste is sweet and sour, but more so sour for my fragile taste buds. Throw in sprinkles for a splash of rainbow magic. Making it is a snap:

Just tear off your water depenser from your tray, and start by opening the red package marked with a 1 and pour the powdered contents into the tray. Mix thoroughly with one cup from your water droplet using one of your included spoons. Then pour in the contents from the red package marked 2 and mix it with another scoop of water. It should turn yellow like a pineapple and look like whip cream.

With the other included spoon, pour in the green package marked 1 into the star shape, and mix it with one scoop of water. Then pour in the contents of the green package marked 2, and mix thouroughly (without adding more water) until it gets stretchy like taffy. Mix in magic rainbow sprinkles and enjoy!

Here is one of many voiceless ominous videos on YouTube going through the process.

I took a trip to Kamakura. It's a place about an hour from Tokyo, although less for me, that's known as Little Kyoto due it's shopping district and many temples. My favorite Tendon shop in Japan is located here, rivaled only by a vegetable tempura shop located in Hachijojima. I make sure to eat here every time I come. They make everything right in front of you, and the taste is just unreal.

The reason is that our 8-month-old has discovered the joy of keyboards, and will start "typing" whenever he sees one and cries if I try to get him to do something else.
