This month's shipment was a box containing three items. This shipment will likely arrive around mid-May. The contents featured were cherry hard candies, chocolate crisps and potato sticks.
Kanro Cherry Jelly Hard Candy
These dainty cherry flavored hard candies have a tough candied outer-shell, but a jelly center just bursting with flavor. Definitely geared more towards the ladies, but I have no masculinity issues tearing open this bright pink package on the train. They're actually made with real cherry juice, so that flavor is authentic!
Nissin Crisp Choco
Pizza shaped chocolate perfect for the whole family. Or just for you with the door locked. We don't judge at Candy Japan. The milk chocolate blasted corn flakes smother each cake piece. Like the title implies, these are crispy as can be. What a satisfyingly sweet crunch! But uh, what's with the googly eyes?
Glico Potato Sticks
Light, crispy and salty potato sticks. Surprisingly, these also have just a tiny hint of sweetness, but make no mistake, the potato factor is high! This is another famous franchise in Japan. There are tons of potato flavors. Also like the chocolate pie up top, I have no idea why they have personified the packaging. It also appears to be a lady. Perhaps you can pretend the chocolate pie and potato crisps are dating. Com'on! Where's your imagination!
In Kamakura there is a cute little island called Enoshima. On that cute little island is a cute little bell. The "love bell" they call it. Cute couples come together and ring the cute little bell so that they will one day get married and have cute little weddings. Finally, they take cute little locks and attach them to the cute little bells cute little fence that sits on the cute little island. Yeah.
